Moderators will perform both organizational and editorial roles, which will prepare them for careers in journalism and management.

While each community has a number of topics already identified as interesting to the community,
the role of community moderators is to guide discussions within the community around one topic at a time.
Moderators will focus discussion, moving conversation towards narrowing problems down to those that pertain specifically to past and present SFU students.
In order to do this, moderators will regularly summarize community members' comments, and ask questions to move discussion forward.
When issues appear to clarify, moderators will move these issues to the "Plan" tab, and invite community members to propose solutions to these problems.
At this stage, moderators will shift conversation in their communities to another topic (potentially one already identified as) of interest to the community.
